Join PPJ as we welcome Dr. Heleana Theixos on May 6th, 2026, 6:30 pm, at Birchard Public Library for a conversation about ICE and our community, entitled “Why Good People Break.”

Heleana Theixos, Ph.D., is a professional ethicist with over 15 years of experience in higher education. She specializes in the study of moral injury within high-stakes environments, including law enforcement and border agencies. Her work analyzes how the intersection of power imbalances, situational ethics, and unconscious bias can “nudge” individuals toward an abuse of authority.
Dr. Theixos holds a doctorate in Philosophy with a specialization in Bioethics and consults on leadership and compliance across healthcare, government, and academic sectors.
Doors open at 6:00 pm with light refreshments served. The event is free and open to the public.
